In following Arbutus Park's dedication to helping the elderly find new hope and promise for a full and joyful life, Dining Services places their emphasis on excellent food provided in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for the residents of The Manor, as well as the Independent Living community at Arbutus Park.

There are currently four dining rooms, each have their own kitchenette area to allow for the fresh preparation of various items. The aroma of the day's selection will entice the residents to come to the dining rooms to enjoy a delicious, nutritious meal in an environment that promotes relationships and interaction with fellow residents.

A new feature to Arbutus Park Manor is a concept that is known as The Green House Project.. This concept is being modeled after the philosophical work of Dr. William Thomas, who founded The Green House Project.. This concept creates small communities within the facility with residents and staff creating habilitative, social settings. Its primary purpose is to serve as a place where residents can receive assistance and support with activities of daily living without it becoming the focus of their existence. Nutrition Management Services Company, Arbutus Park's food service provider, was involved with the initial start-up of this concept in conjunction with United Methodist Senior Services of Mississippi.

The original Green House arrangement had the residents prepare their meals, but here at Arbutus Park the meals will be prepared by our professional, dedicated dietary staff, with nutritional guidance provided by our Dietitian to ensure our resident's receive the highest quality and nutritionally sound meals.

Arbutus Park provides a dining services program tailored to meet and exceed the tastes and preferences of our residents. The menus are designed around the preferences of the residents through the use of our Resident's Preference Survey. This survey allows us to incorporate the resident's food preferences, eating habits and nutritional needs into a customized program. We use standardized recipes where the food is cooked from scratch utilizing the availability of fresh meats and fresh or frozen vegetables. We also offer special holiday meals which follow age-old traditions, such as Thanksgiving dinner with Roast Turkey with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Candied Yams, Green Bean Casserole and fresh baked Pumpkin Pie. - Breakfast is served daily at 7:00am - 8:15am

- Lunch is served daily at 11:00am - 12:15pm

- Dinner is served daily at 5:00pm - 6:15pm

Main Dining Room

- Breakfast is served at 8:00am.

- Lunch is served at 12:00pm.

- Dinner is served at 5:30pm
