CROSSROADS ALZHEIMER’S / DEMENTIA CARE
On the second floor of the Manor within our nursing department is a very special place we call Crossroads. Here we care for 42 residents with Alzheimer’s and other related dementia.
Crossroads is a comfortable and secure place where great care is taken to create a safe, non-threatening atmosphere for these fragile patients. There is a welcoming living room, a warm dining room, and lovely outdoor spaces with sun and shade, enclosed for safety.
Residents are free to move as they wish throughout Crossroads. They wear ankle bracelets that prevent them from wandering away by triggering a door lock or sounding an alarm.
Our Crossroads staff is especially trained to care for those suffering the effects of dementia. A range of therapies are offered, geared to each individual’s abilities, encouraging each person to make the most of each moment. Therapeutic activities stretch through the day from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening.
We recognize how difficult dementia can be especially for spouses, sons and daughters, and our staff strives to support our families as well as our residents.
